For The Love Of Writing

As the popular quote stated by Gloria Steinem goes, “Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don’t feel like I should be doing something else.” I have to say, that I think I know what Steinem means. I’ve come to realize that, when I’m writing, I feel simply amazing – I feel like I’m really accomplishing something worthwhile.

Maybe this sounds silly, but writing gives me great joy. Writing makes me feel part of something truly wonderful, and ironically, it’s almost too special of a feeling to explain in words. I get such satisfaction from putting words to paper, or often in my case, to screen.

Last night, instead of watching TV like usual, I first read some of the book I’ve been reading (The Wanted by Robert Crais) and then I began writing. It just felt so good to be doing something that made me feel like I was making progress; like I wasn’t wasting my time just lying around.

Whatever it is that you love to do (as long as it isn’t dangerous), and whatever it is that makes you feel truly satisfied with yourself, I recommend that you do just that. I think that we all have something that we are meant to do and that brings us a true sense of pride. For me, that ‘thing’ is writing.

We all have a sense of worth, no matter what. However, I really believe deep down in my heart and mind, that there are hobbies and thing we do in life that brings out that worth – that helps us realize how wonderful we truly are. Discover what that gift is that you possess, and I guarantee that you will find yourself discovering happiness.

*I’d like to give a special shoutout to Matt from The Seeds 4 Life, for giving me something to shoot for in life and for making me part of his team at The Seeds 4 Life!
